About a/symmetric
Welcome to a/symmetric. Once a week, we bring you news and analysis on the global industrial contest, where production is power and competition is (often) asymmetric.
Our writing focuses on China’s industrial strategies: What are China’s scientific and technological ambitions and capabilities? How does China pursue innovation? What is China’s framework for industrial competition, and how might that grant it asymmetric advantages over competitors like the US?
Our analysis is informed by wide reading of Chinese-language materials. We put these sources, both primary and secondary, in conversation with English-language coverage and research.
